Will Coppage Releases New EP, River Songs, Vol. 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Greenville, Mississippi — January 16, 2026 — Mississippi-born singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and MFA-trained author Will Coppage released his new EP, River Songs, Vol. 1, on January 13, 2026.

River Songs, Vol. 1 marks Coppage’s first major solo release following a year of international touring and the acclaimed EP Ain’t No Love with Stud Ford, grandson of blues legend T-Model Ford. The release signals a new chapter in Coppage’s career, expanding his indie-grit Americana sound while remaining deeply rooted in the modern Mississippi Delta.

The EP channels tension, movement, and mythology, blending folk-driven storytelling with indie-rock punch and cinematic atmosphere. Sharp lyricism and urgent guitar work drive the songs forward, shaped by years of touring, veteran life, and lived experience. Together, the tracks carve out Coppage’s unmistakable sonic identity — a dust-and-danger blend of folk, indie, and cinematic roots music that feels both grounded and forward-looking.

“The river has always shaped life in the Delta, and these songs carry that same push and pull,” says Coppage. “Living less than a mile from the Mississippi River, I can see the levee from my backyard — its moods flow directly into these songs.”

The EP is also a deeply personal collaboration. Coppage performed all instruments on the record and credits his wife of sixteen years for backing vocals and his ten-year-old daughter for percussion on several tracks, adding an intimate, family-rooted dimension to the release.

Coppage will tour in support of River Songs, Vol. 1 throughout 2026 as part of his Delta Grit Tour. River Songs, Vol. 1 is available digitally and on all major streaming platforms.

Raised in the Mississippi Delta, Will Coppage has spent a lifetime steeped in music and storytelling, developing a sound defined by Loud Roots, Indie Grit, and Delta Swagger. An MFA-trained writer, his songwriting captures vivid imagery, emotional depth, and unrelenting energy, creating performances that are both memorable and transformative. In addition to his work as a solo artist, Coppage is a multi-instrumentalist, award-winning visual artist and author, and U.S. Air Force veteran, bringing disciplined creativity and narrative force across multiple artistic mediums.

Coppage is a member of the Mississippi Songwriters Association and the International Singer-Songwriters Association, with compositions represented through ASCAP. He has also been appointed to the Mississippi Arts Commission Artist Roster, recognized for mastery of craft and excellence in teaching songwriting, creativity, and arts marketing.
